I just went to look for the correct term for the pedal clips (toe clips, I believe) commonly fitted on fixies. They are again a reversal to an older, technically inferior, solution, but one that works, fits into the concept and therefore is desirable.

Anyway, I stumbled on this hilarious blog post http://bikesnobnyc.blogspot.com/2007/07/new-fixed-gear-bicycle-owners-manual.html by Bike Snob NYC. It seems the exact phenomenon I rant about has happened to fixies as well! (Not in Sweden yet, though...)</description>
