Fuzz Guitar Show 2010 – Part 2

Posted by on May 10, 2010 in Articles & Tutorials, Product Images, Sound Samples

Here are a few sound/video clips of the EGS guitars. They are recorded with the video camera built-in microphone so not particularly high quality, but should provide some comparison between the different guitars. The clips are all recorded with identical settings of all controls, with very neutral settings. No reverb or effects, except for a bit of overdrive in the first clip. More clips will follow. Demo #1 – Mats Lundberg Demo #2 – Joe Pesce Demo #3 – Niclas...

FUZZ Guitar Show 2010 – Part 1

Posted by on May 10, 2010 in Articles & Tutorials

I have just returned from the FUZZ Guitar Show 2010 in Gothenburg, which was exhausting and energizing at the same time. The interest was huge, and I had people in the booth most of the time. I didn’t have a lot of time to walk around the rest of the show this year, so unfortunately I cannot offer too many insights on the show as a whole, except that it was well organized as far as I am concerned and that there were a lot of visitors – I heard the number 2,500 on Saturday. Many attendees had travelled from Norway, Denmark and Finland to attend. ¨ Our entire room was completely crowded on Saturday but little more quiet on Sunday. On the table, you can see Rick Toone’s neck with the intonation adjustable nut, which he describes further here. I was sharing a room with True Temperament, Lehnert Amps, Lundgren Pickups and Moody Sounds – all great people and all great products. Above are Anders and Per from True Temperament and Ola of Lehnert Amps while setting up. A more detailed picture of the guitar display. Several people who swung by the booth knew of Strandberg Guitarworks already and were familiar with the web site. But I particularly...

Ready To Go

Posted by on May 6, 2010 in Articles & Tutorials

With hours to spare, I have completed the four guitars that will go to FUZZ Guitar Show. They turned out very nicely, with the exception of some finishing problems of the new batch of hardware. This needs to be corrected at a later date, but is a shame since this is all people will see at the show. There are many reasons to visit: try the guitars, participate in my sound clip competition (you can win a complete bridge) and be the very first to get a first-hand look at the world premiere of the Toone-Townsend Intonation Adjustable Nut and Neck...

Exhibit A

Posted by on May 2, 2010 in Articles & Tutorials

Getting ready for an exhibition like the FUZZ Guitar Show means much more than just getting the guitars ready. There are brochures and business cards to print, and dressings for the table in the exhibit hall. Today, I made a stand for the guitars. As you can see, there’s still some work remaining. For three of them it’s just assembly (if I had some hardware…) and adjustment. Luckily, I dropped the new batch of hardware off at the anodizer last week and will pick it up on Tuesday. For the maple/mahogany guitar, there are no frets on the neck. Although I will complete it in time for the show, there is a good reason. Rick Toone and I have partnered up to organize a surprise unveiling at the Fuzz show. Another good reason to...
